"Trashers", cards that provide trashing, are divided into categories:
- Vanilla trashers just trash when they trash (e.g. Chapel, Steward).
- Trash-for-benefit give you something (e.g. Apprentice, Salvager).
- Remodels let you exchange a card for a better one (e.g. Remodel, Mine, Upgrade).
The Dark Ages expansion introduced reaction cards that react to being trashed.
