Questions tagged [pinochle]

Card game for 2 to 4 players using a special 48-card deck. There are also double deck variations for 4 and 5 players. The standard pinochle deck contains two of each rank (in hierarchal order) Ace, Ten, King, Queen, Jack, and Nine in each suit. When playing double deck the Nines are removed, so the total card count is 80 instead of 96. Traditionally pinochle involves three basic phases: bidding, melding, and the taking of tricks.
