comment When I put the robber on someone in Settlers of Catan, does the resource I take HAVE to be random?
@PatLudwig the FAQ is only for the latest edition, and without the latest edition's rules, it's in several cases going to violate the wording of the rules in use... without there being house rules, mind you... so the FAQ really isn't the final answer.

comment Too few resource cards to distribute, but only one player receiving that resource type. Do they get the cards?
Mine says player order, ending with the player who rolled the dice. Again, older edition.

comment Keeping track of many independent variables on a physical board?
EXTREMELY clumsy in play. It's the cumbersome in Shadows, with a d6; it's far worse with a D10 or d20, as consecutive numbers are not adjacent, except on specially made spindown d20's.

Use a 2.25" diameter wheel, a 1.75", and a 1.25" diameter wheel, stacked. A single shared hub runs through the center of all three and down into the board. Put the arrow pointing to the selection in the corner of the 2.25" square...

comment Is a deck with extra aces more beneficial to a dealer, or a player?
Yep, probably should... but the principle is adequately enough shown, and the reciprocal form (Face first, then ace) is the same odds. The important factor is that any increase in player chances of Blackjack hurt the house far worse than help the house, because a player blackjack usually pays without even showing the dealer's hand.

comment When can I discard the Death Creeper Card?
the second sentence of the card gives when; it's easier to see if the sentence is paraphrased: Anytime this card stands alone, you may discard it. The anytime is part of when...

comment Implementing a map exploration mechanic cheaply
Square cards are rotatable to 4 positions, while rectagular are 2 positions. So yes, it IS a drawback.

comment Is it possible for players to gain an advantage from colluding in blackjack?
Because of the common use of a shoe, many Blackjack tables, several hands are not independent. Only when the deal is from a freshly shuffled deck is the hand independent of the prior hand.
