comment Are there any specific strategies in Jenga?
Did you mean psychological warfare, or are you suggesting we distract our Jenga rivals by not bathing and other unsavory practices?

Thanks, that's a good start. I'm still hoping for something bigger.

I agree, they're great for inspiration, and I've used them to play Blind Dates. Unfortunately, they would be more labour intensive than I was hoping for if I'm just going to web publish this.

comment Good travel games for two players, especially for playing on trains?
This game really makes you think hard. However, I've found that I can't play it more than twice in a row without getting a headache.

I find Fluxx irritating to play because it's so chaotic.

comment Any defense against the forum cards in Roma?
We thought Mercator seemed to be the best option, but combining it with Haruspex, Consiliarius, and Scaenicus makes it more effective. Thanks for the advice.

It's a great game, but resist the urge to play a second game of it right away. You may suffer brain damage.

The problem with that is that the worst player sits next to the best player.

comment Hello World game for many game systems
@Brian, I think non-trivial would be more interesting. In programming, the code for Hello World is trivial, but you use it to test that you can successfully compile and run something. I can't see what the equivalent benefit would be of a trivial port to several game systems. I've added a note in the question describing what I think the benefit of this exercise would be.

I consider Zendo to be a port of Eleusis, and as I said in my answer, Eleusis seems too different from most games to be helpful for this exercise. Just my opinion, of course. I still appreciate the suggestion.

comment Diplomacy “lite”?
@Brian, Gamut of Games is well worth tracking down. There are lots of used copies around. I even have a spare copy if you're interested in a book swap.
