I'm a geek, a role-player and a biker.

I work for Diamond Light Source, developing open source scientific software for the UK national synchrotron facility. In the past I have worked in the robotics, mechatronics and laser micro-machining industries.

comment Battlestar Galactica vs. Shadows over Camelot
This is not an answer to the question, how can it be - you haven't even played one of the games! If you had played BSG, you would have known that having seen the series was in no way needed to play the game, in fact in many ways you are better off not coming to the game with the preconceptions from the series.

comment In the game “En Garde!” - How do optional routines work?
@aramis - True, the house rules for Les Petites Bêtes Soyeuses (Paul's game) stretch to 30 pages of pdf, but they do make the game more interesting and round of the rough edges for postal play with En Garde!.

Because one good answer with three suggestions is more likely to get you up-votes than three answers with one suggestion each.

comment What is the optimal method to shuffle an organised deck of cards
In my experience, with the cheap ones at least, the biggest problem with them is that they are so noisy. In the time that it takes to walk to the room where you've stashed the shuffler, you could have shuffled it several times. *8')
