Countermeasures to “analysis paralysis”? I admit, it was more of a tongue in cheek answer. Truth is, it really depends on the game and the group of people you're playing with. I think external 'maximum think time' policies are terrible funkillers (unless it's built into the game itself). |

How do you configure the people playing Werewolves to not give each other away? Wait a minute? Do you allow players to stand up during the night phase? |

How do I avoid the endless trade negotiations in Settlers of Catan? You are playing with the wrong people... :). You can usually disrupt a trade by underselling the player whose turn it isn't. You can also start by acting like a auctioneer, guiding the players through the trade. This may not always help ins speeding things up, but at least you have got something to do. |

Hero Quest type games This is actually a lot like the old HeroQuest. Not too heavy, and very much fun! |

Hero Quest type games While these are good games, they may be a little hard-core for a casual Hero-Quest player. |

Is bribing off the robber a good addition to Settlers of Catan? I think it's against the rules to 'Give' someone resources, as stated in this answer. Also, if the placement of the robber is due to a 7 roll, this event occurs outside of the 'trading' phase of a turn, so immediate action would not even be possible. |

How do I avoid the endless trade negotiations in Settlers of Catan? You can only engage in trades when it's your turn, or with the person whose turn it is. I believe this is clearly stated in the rules. |

What is this game with multiplying aliens and random weapons? I happen to know of its existence because it has been on my 'must try sometime' list for quite some time now. Never played it, but it looks and sounds like a blast! |

What games are similar to Risk? Base mechanics, like 'roll to hit' and Victory Points allready make it al very different beast. But I agree that more people should play this game. |

Other “network building” style games, like Hackers and Illuminati? Okay, it's just that the gameplay of american styled games (which theses SJgames are) is so very different from classic eurogames (like Carcassonne), that it would not be a good comparison. What i'm saying is that in Carcassonne, laying down the Tiles 'is' the game, whereas in Hacker-Illuminati you get to do a lot more fun stuff to/with the cards after placement. |

Other “network building” style games, like Hackers and Illuminati? Carcassonne is absolutely nothing like these games. Carcassonne lets you lay down tiles, collect points and that's it (maybe expansions push this mechanic a little to the back). These games are much much deeper than that, with laying down cards/expanding the structure or network being only a part of the game mechanics. |

What games are similar to Risk? Once you get into the order and mindset of how to resolve turns, Axis and Allies isn't that complex. Although not a perfectly balanced game, it really is a lot of fun when playing with 3 or more players. |

Is using Quickshade a good way to finish miniature painting? Upvoted. This IS ontopic. If you can ask questions about game packaging, caring for pieces, then painting miniatures (For a game) is ontopic! |

What are the key strategy differences between Settlers of Catan and Seafarers? After trying Cities and Knights, all other expansions dissapoint... |

How do you place your initial settlements in Settlers of Catan? Tip: do not try seafarers. Knights and City's is the only true expansion! |
