comment Would it be viable to play pandemic with an “eradicate all diseases” win condition?
Are you saying that you've played games where you managed to eradicate all four diseases? (Eradicating one isn't that surprising, maybe even two, but all of them?)

comment How can we play a shorter but satisfying game of Arkham Horror?
Great advice, thanks! Keeping mean time between "things to do" low (for each player) is important in all games, and this is an area where we definitely bog down sometimes.

comment How to show turn order when turn order can change during the round
This is what I was coming here to suggest. (That or dual tracks, but this seems more elegant to me.) I feel like I've seen this mechanic but I cannot remember in what game.

comment Is it practical for the visually-impaired to play in casinos?
@TomPanning, it depends on the card, but about two feet (a little more "obvious" cards like aces). Face cards are hardest because all you get is the text in the corner, while on other cards you can see a pattern of pips. (Sorry for the delay; I didn't get a notification for your comment.)

The people I've played with don't mean to be mean or anything, but especially when there are a lot of cards on the table, it can be hard to track -- wait, is that available blocker card A or card B with similar colors in the art?

This is also one of the main reasons I stopped playing M:tG (where I did actually play in a couple tournaments) -- asking to see the cards was annoying the other players. And the tables there are usually smaller than casino poker tables; on the other hand, casinos may be more interested than M:tG tournaments in helping me give them my money. :-)

I am at a loss for how to tag this. Please help. (I just consed up "casion-games".)

comment What's a good way to shuffle small decks of cards?
The wash shuffle works particularly well when the shuffle is followed by each player taking cards. No need to reassemble into a deck first; just spread the cards out, move them around until well-mixed, and have players draw. This is what we do with the destination cards in Trans America at the start of each round.

comment Is there a strategy to choosing the card used to construct a wonder phase?
Yes, card denial is a major factor. If it would be dangerous in your neighbor's hands and you can't use it for its primary purpose, using it for your wonder is ideal.
