comment cooperative game that is NOT like pandemic, forbidden island et al
Yes, it may be considered as such, but the fact that 1) you can give up quests if you don't mind having some black swords and 2) there might be a traitor, make it different. It's only my personal opinion, not a rule.

comment How can I cheaply and easily create stackable tiles?
3D-print one and 3D-photocopy it multiple times! (Sorry, it's the only answer that poped out of my mind. I hope it made you smile despite the fact it wasn't helpful)

comment Clarification about Tools in Stone Age
Yes… but no. Tools may be more efficient, but only for food/resources gathering, which is not the goal of the game. Try building a house or buying a card with a tool and you'll realize people are not that useless.

comment In Stone Age, can I use the resources gained on a turn to pay for the cards?
Oops, never mind my answer. I thought he wanted to use a wood gained from the card to pay it. The correct answer is of course "yes".

Roll a dice. Six makes you sick. If more than one people is sick, reroll.

comment Promised future trades as part of legal trades? (Solution described, alternatives/comments requested)
+1 for the question, because it concerns not only Settlers of Catan, but also any game that involves trading.

comment What is the best way to print cards for my game?
Don't forget to cut the corners in a round shape if you make cards. It may seem only decorative, but it's not. It will prevent the cards from being destroyed too fast.

Even simplier: all aces are on the same column and 2 is above them.

comment Settlers of Catan - turn completion
@Rebecca I agree, the most important question you have to ask yourself is: are we playing to win or to have fun? If I was playing with you, I'd say such a great move must be played, even if it means I don't win. I'm sure you know better than us how your friends react when you do something like that.

comment What is the optimal method to shuffle an organised deck of cards
@AlexC I see what you mean, I had this problem too. Then I changed the kind of people I played with ;-) (This, of course is to be taken as un-seriously as possible). Anyway, that's true. You found the flaw of my technique.

comment What's the easiest way to prototype a board game design?
I personnally use paper for pieces, but your idea of Scrabble tiles is great! I'll use it. It reminds me of a guy I met who did something crazy for the next step. When he had a game that he new was functionnal, he programmed the game with an artificial intelligence to check if it could be easely played. If it was, the next step was to make a prototype...

comment Games that play well with a wide range of different numbers of players
The 2-players game is totally different. I (also) recommand it to people who are used to the game. I personally love it, but it has nothing in common with the 3-8 players game.

comment In 7 wonders when you buy resources from neighbor do you take the card?
I agree. Cards are not resources, it's more like a shop. You don't take the shop when you buy things in it.

comment Chess variant that allows humans to be competitive vs computers
A bigger board would be worst. The AI works simply: it takes every possible move in the next 20-30 turns and chooses the best one for itself. Having more pieces doesn't bother the AI because more possible moves isn't a problem for it, but it is for humans!

comment When should I build the Crane card?
Not personnaly, but I saw someone using it (not at the end of the game, this guy was good at anticipation). I first thought he didn't know how to play. Then I lost...
