comment Can you choose not to assign damage to a second blocker?
@user1717828 As a Magic player myself, Magic is for D&D players who can't get a group because they fight over the rules too much. :-)

Would it be more correct to say all nontoken creatures?

comment What is the justification of the card type Tribal in Magic the Gathering?
Removing Tribal would not make Tarmogoyf functionally altered any more than a hammer becomes functionally altered if you give it 7 nails instead of 8 to hammer in. It's still the same hammer. (Note that putting Tribal in the reminder text is exactly that - reminder text. It doesn't change the card itself.)

This seems more like a rant than an actual question.

comment How can I efficiently build a deck from a box of random cards?
@Rainbolt But... the actual deck building isn't what the question is about (read the second to last paragraph...) A question as broad as "how do I build a deck" is a bad question whether it's "all standard cards" or "the six packs at my prerelease" or "this random box of stuff". This question is specifically about how to turn a random box of cards into a reasonable card pool from which to begin deck building.

@Rainbolt that's next level deck building. This is first level deck building. This is totally answerable with experience and fact as opposed to opinion, as evidenced by the multiple experience/fact/logic based answers that showed up after your comment and vote.

Oh i see... yeah, that seems flat out like a bug in how they coded it then, honestly. I thought YOU summoned it... you may want to report it to them.

@Skeith You can always playtest with proxies before making the investement for tournament play. This is even encouraged by Wizards, believe it or not...

comment Ways to handicap in Magic the Gathering?
@John but you're not. If you were doing your damnedest to beat them, you'd play a Tier 1 deck and not give them any handicaps. You've already rigged the game so heavily in their favor. If anything, you're not doing it honest at all by allowing them to cheat with house rules. A soccer coach doesn't teach the team to play soccer by constantly dominating them on the field... this isn't any different...

In hindsight, judges should probably not be drinking while on active judge duty.

Also in my playgroup, you can't be one point from winning, otherwise you'll win, your wife will be upset, and you'll be sleeping on the couch. YMMV.

comment Why is Sunken Hollow a rare?
Given the relative low price of the cards in this set, I'd be very happy with a $4 card..
