C# developer by trade - Gamer by passion...
On the PC I play Action RPG's (just give me D3 already!), Strategy and Hack & Slash games (just give me D3 already!)
Away from the computer I love to play board and card games with friends and family.
I've also dabbled in quite a few CCG's. My personal favorite was EVE: The Second Genesis - which I've followed from it's early beginnings to it's bitter end...

Are the A-sides and B-sides of the wonder boards really balanced? I wouldn't expect the two sides to be balanced. I've never played the B side but from the rules I got the impression that they are simply more complex than the A sides... I always expected that you'd either all play the A side or all play the B side. |

What's the easiest way to prototype a board game design? @SteveBennett - No idea about where to get piecepack. I personally never saw the appeal in it so I never checked. I would only consider it as a source of stand in pieces while I figure out the mechanics. After that I'd choose my components based on the theme I'm aiming for. |

What Makes Buildings Valuable In Puerto Rico? @Tom Au: I wouldn't call that "obstructive" since your goal is not to take a building away from an opponent. Your goal is to end the game by filling your city space - which is indeed what builders usually do. |

What Makes Buildings Valuable In Puerto Rico? I've only played 1 real game with other people and about 5 or so online against an AI. Online I always ended up doing a build strategy and winning. Interestingly many of the AI's also chose the building route. I think the "building strategy" can be very surprising to a new player who thinks the game is only about shipping. That can make it very powerful. |

Use of Executive Order in Battlestar Galatica In most games I've played that have similar level of game text effects that deny something usually beat effects that allow the same thing. Also like others said. XO'ing someone out of the brig feels unrealistic and cheap. |

Evaluating tactical situations in Puerto Rico The comments mostly echo what I'm currently doing. I think my problem was that the Settler and Builder seem so much less complex to evaluate than the others that I feared there might be some important detail I overlooked. But it seems there isn't and I've been doing it mostly right. Of course there's lots of stuff that still slips past me. So thanks for pointing it out! |

Evaluating tactical situations in Puerto Rico About training tools. I didn't expect there to be one but it was worth a shot to ask. I'm currently training on tropiceuro.com in case you want to check it out. |

Evaluating tactical situations in Puerto Rico When someone chooses Builder should I always build something or is it ok to save up for something bigger? |

Munchkin “Insurance Rep” bad things Thanks. Now that I know what to look for I found it. All the way at the end of the rules. The German rules are horribly confusing. So the hand is safe but what about your current Class, Race, etc.? |

Strategy for succeeding at Crisis skill checks All but one character in the big seems like a really dangerous situation. You'd have to be pretty sure the player is not a cylon. Otherwise it's an intriguing move. Also you're right with the scouting. You could basically just skip the hard ones and have cards to spare... Totally forgot about that. |

Strategy for succeeding at Crisis skill checks I am completely aware of this aspect and as a matter of fact the first option I presented is the logical conclusion to it. |

Strategy for succeeding at Crisis skill checks So you concur that the humans have to pick their battles? |

Strategy for succeeding at Crisis skill checks I would like to hear more about your experience in that regard. Do you feel it's easy before and after all cylons are revealed. How often did you play? |

Strategy for succeeding at Crisis skill checks True, but since the different colors only make it harder for the humans and make it somewhat harder for the cylons too I decided to ignore this aspect and assume that everyone just draws the perfect mixture of cards. |

Strategy for succeeding at Crisis skill checks Well, my analysis only concerns itself with the endgame where all cylons are in their own fleet and no longer have to maintain their cover. Our game had 5 attack crisis during the first 10 turns and after 3 skill checks I knew who was the cylon. So most of our game was played in this situation... |

In Puerto Rico If only one prospector is chosen during a round, does the other one get a coin placed on it? The card is the role. The two prospector cards are different roles, they just happen to have the same name. |

What are great gamer games that are still great for uncompetitive groups. I didn't say that all groups play it like this. If your group likes to fight over individual deals then that's what you like. Nothing wrong with that. |

How do you handle two epidemics in a row in pandemic? @blueberryfields: I disagree with you conclusion. I believe their intention was just to ensure that on average your epidemics will be somewhat evenly distributed throughout the game. Because otherwise you might draw all of them very early (you loose for sure) or very late in the game (you win for sure). Both wouldn't be very interesting games. - - - If you really want to prevent double epidemics then set aside 3/4/5 cards when you make the stacks and use them as spacers. You can still get 2 epi's in two sequential turns though... |

Paying Costs you Cannot Afford The rules (fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/Battlestar_Galactica/…) explicitly state this on page 30 under "Card clarifications"... |
