How do I properly place handicap stones? In the other cases that aren't completely symmetric (6 and 7), I believe it's customary to fill the hoshi points on the sides of the boards before the top and bottom. I.e., in a 7 stone game the handicap stones form an "H" rather than an "I" |

How do I properly place handicap stones? It's worth noting that this custom is appropriately deviated from on many computer programs, as the board is shown to both players in the same orientation. It's polite to let white play in the lower right from her perspective, so when sitting opposite each other (in most real games) the 3rd stone goes in lower right as this answer says, however in virtual games the third stone is placed in the upper left because it is the upper left from both players' perspectives. |

Guillotine: After You… and Callous Guards +1 For a good source. I am surprised that the consensus is that "putting" is different from "moving" in terms of whether or not an alteration is made. Especially since Callous Guards does not specify the order of the line. Might have to create a BGG account... |

Evaluating a Dominion Kingdom set Though I should also say +1 for a nice and thorough answer! |

Evaluating a Dominion Kingdom set I'm a little confused by Village/Militia being listed as a combo. As the Militia attack doesn't stack and Village card draw only replaces itself, something like "Village, Militia, Militia" is just a more complicated way of getting the same result as "Militia, Silver." Granted, you don't have an action left over, but you're not relying on having the village in hand to start things off. |

Good first leads in sheepshead ...but it does seem unique to Sheepshead in this sense. A Google search for "fail suit trump" turns up only pretty much only Sheepshead hits. Yet another quirk of Sheepshead. |

Good first leads in sheepshead Is "fail" a standard term for non-trump? Haven't heard it before. |

How do you make Settlers of Catan work well for 2 players? (Problems and play-tested solution described, alternatives requested) Perhaps you should modify the Robber Equalizer Rule so that the discarding occurs whenever a 7 is rolled, and the Equalization only applies to robber placement & theft. |

Which Dominion expansion playes best with two players? Hi, and welcome to the site! We've recently decided to put an end to all "recommendation" questions(see the FAQ). All the Dominion expansions are widely played by 2 and more players, I think any site with reviews will reflect this in their ratings. Please do bring us any more objective questions! |
