(update) - I'm having a board game published! We'd appreciate your support on Facebook or on Twitter, as we prepare for a Kickstarter campaign in early 2014.

I hereby commit to contributing to this site without any rudeness, sarcasm, accusation, or any other unloving speech.

comment When is it ok to king-make?
I don't like unnecessarily long games, so trading with the leading player (eg in Catan) is fine with me. Sometimes I have to swap cards under the table to avoid heckling from others, though!

@ire: it must be my math.SE upbringing, wherein motivation/personal effort are encouraged. I'm drafting a meta question, but am realizing that I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. Did the OP research the answer? That would be nice to know in the body, and would have saved me 6-7 minutes (of my valuable time! wink). Are we expecting the developer to visit BG.SE and personally answer the question? I've seen such things on MO, but the sites and topics are quite different...

It's authoritative, but... well, I tried.

Surely you could have researched this on BGG the same as I...

comment How does Intrigue change your general Dominion strategy?
Of all the combinations of cards to avoid, [Peddler] + [Swindler] isn't in my top 100!

comment Ora et Labora. Ideas for an alternative 2 player game ending rule?
It might just be a matter of taste, but I prefer the way that player interactions are affected by "until there are X (maybe 0) left". Navegador has a "whichever comes first" end condition.

comment Ora et Labora. Ideas for an alternative 2 player game ending rule?
Two options that we have considered: 1) randomly removing a tile (card?) or two from eah round, or 2) playing until X tiles (cards) remain, where X is greater than zero.

Note: Peddler costs $8 in the Black Market, unless lower due to Bridge or [that new card that lowers prices by one]

comment When to buy cards costing 1 “Rune” in Ascension?
Thanks for the answer. I actually haven't played Ascension proper since the SoS expansion was released on iOS, but I probably play 3-4 games a day of RotF/SoS. The 1-rune cards in SoS are worth - at most - as much as Lifebound Initiate, which is still pretty low in my eyes.

@Steven: Please see the corrected version of the question. Even though Spike Vixen is outside the scope of the (corrected) question, I will comment that I would rather buy a Heavy if it's late in the game, to prevent my opponents from having access to a potentially better card that would replace SV (for example).

(If someone would do me the favor of cleaning up the formatting, I would greatly appreciate it. For some reason I can't get numbered lists to display properly...)

comment When should I avoid a small ship strategy?
The possibility of avoiding certain negative events does not outweigh the need to have thrusters, batteries, guns, and storage bays. This question seems backwards. Of course, we usually only play this game as a "gateway"...

comment If I am going to build a small ship, which direction should I build toward?
Why not just "waste" five seconds placing one tile in any direction, and then look at the cards?
