(update) - I'm having a board game published! We'd appreciate your support on Facebook or on Twitter, as we prepare for a Kickstarter campaign in early 2014.

I hereby commit to contributing to this site without any rudeness, sarcasm, accusation, or any other unloving speech.

comment Can you gain a Silver with Trader if the original supply pile was empty?
Also, by your reasoning, you could "buy" (thereby gaining) a curse from an empty deck and (instead, though not really) gain a silver.

To be more pedantic still... :) but seriously forks. I have yet to hear of a programming error on isotropic, so I recommend just playing a game with the card(s) in question in the future.

Right. "instead of gaining a card,... " means "instead of taking a card and adding it to your discard...".

comment How is Settlers of Catan different when playing with the 5-6 player expansion?
You don't have to stop. Players have to vocalize their intent and/or throw resource cards towards the banker before the dice are rolled or they miss-out. (*) - the way we play, that is

comment Do you get a gold when playing Trading Post?
It took me WAY too long to realize that this question (and answer, obviously) is about 7 Wonders, and not Dominion!

@Jefromi. Also, do not subject your students to Arkham Horror, unless study hall is actually Saturday detention!

"The question does not show [enough] research effort" ... sure, it's subjective.

(+1). The data is in your answer (though I would suggest mentioning the contribution to the total of each of hand, peg, crib)

comment To what extent do mobile adaptations of board games change the games?
It occurred to me while Dominionating earlier that Isotropic offers both "veto mode" and an automatic point counter. My friends and I have been using a variant of veto mode since the beginning, but the point counter is definitely a dynamic unique to tech-based play. As to how well these are received, I dislike the counter, but many of my opponents do not. I was once called (by my opponent) some sort of male genital slang in Italian after disabling the counter.

What you want is not a good fit for a Q&A site. Just go to ipadboardgames.org (as I did), and read the reviews for the top games. I listed them in another comment. Also, monopoly is a lot faster since the moneychanging time is minimal.

Considerable effort, indeed! A cursory investigation reveals that quite a few "top games" (eg Carcasonne, Catan, Caylus, Dominion, Ticket to Ride, Tigris, Small World, Forbidden Island) have faithful iPad versions. And if we broaden the scope of this question (crazy, I know!) to include browser-based versions, then we have all the BSW games - faithful.
