Avid Emacs and Vim hacker (I use Emacs with Evil to get the best of both worlds ;)

I'm experienced with Python, C#, Java, and Javascript, and have dabbled in C++, C, objective-C, Lisp, Ruby, and Scala. While I have a keen interest for all things code, I'm especially interested in the design and creation of programming languages themselves.

Currently a Computer Science Freshmen at Cornell University.

comment I have the Dominion base set only, in what order should I buy the expansions?
From what I've found Alchemy seems to be the lowest ranked expansion in almost any category. Are there any hard reasons for this or does it just happen to be less popular?

comment How to reduce total screw-overs in Ticket to Ride so there's always a potential path toward victory?
@Ryan I haven't kept careful track, but usually the lowest is in the 80s and the highest is in between 100-120ish. I'll be sure to record them next time if this issue comes up. :)

comment Race for the Galaxy vs. San Juan and Puerto Rico
I was originally asking if RFTG was easy enough to pick up for new people, because it seems to have rave reviews everywhere, but decided to turn this into a comparison. Then it evolved into Race vs. San Juan with a point about how both of them were in relation to Puerto Rico, so I just gave in and added it as well.

comment Designing a Yu-Gi-Oh! like card game - the game phases
Kudos for trying to fix some of Yugioh!'s infinite problems. It has to be one of the most unbalanced games ever created, probably because the only point of the game was to make more money off of the TV show that never played by the rules and convinced thousands of kids (like me) to treat Yugioh cards as more valuable than gold.......until they discovered Magic: The Gathering and sold all of their Yugioh cards to play a REAL trading card game. ;)

comment Catan: when to buy development cards?
yeah, sheep seem to be the weakest resource, but buying development cards can make it easy to turn them into more valuable things. :D
