Do you have to go around the board once to purchase properties? Before you can purchase? So are they still put up for auction? Never played like this before but I have played with people that randomly distribute all the properties at the start. |

In Ticket to Ride, how do you overcome bad initial tickets? I'm assuming American version. I have had this happen to me multiple times and by following this strategy I can usually win or come close. The worst it ever got was once I ended up with 8 Tickets none of which crossed the continent and I fulfilled 6 and managed to block enough people to pickup the win. It's doable just not easy. |

Can every game of Solitaire be solved? @Oltarus Aces in same column and 2 above them is still winnable. Its annoying and probably a loss but doable. |

Does preventing damage also prevent poison? This is correct, however, it's worth pointing out that cards like Swamp Mosquito exist and your opponent would get a poison counter even if your opponent prevented all combat damage. |

Has anyone played a completely 'free market' version of Settlers of Catan? @PatLudwig I have tried this, multiple times actually. I found it is a good introduction for 2 or more players who are new to board games (not just new to catan, and if its only 1 we let them sink or swim) and it works well people who do not enjoy the pressure/tension cough all the wives and girlfriends of my board gaming group cough For me, I enjoy the increased tension and strategy required by playing the raw game. Although, we have found this considerably speeds up the game. |

What is the resolution of tapping a blocking creature? @AndSoYouCode It's a pretty obscure rule technicality but you don't actually die until after the lifelink would go off and gain you life. I can't explain it in a comment but feel free to ask a question if you want. |
