I like a wide variety of games. My favorite is the card game of Bridge. In recent years I find myself far more often playing Settlers of Catan, and, lately, Ticket to Ride. I played a lot of Cosmic Encounter (EON Games version), Stratego, and Risk as a kid.

comment How to store and organize cards for Magic the Gathering?
Took me nearly 3 months to accept this answer as it took me that long to realize how good it is. TRACK IT IN SOFTWARE should be in boldface. I have my 4000 card collection in deckbox.org and can now very easily see subsets of my collection based on type, subtype, color, etc. using deckbox.org.

I check out this link with great interest but was mildly disappointed with the cost of cards in the first couple articles I read. Key cards in some decks (Range of Eos, Bloodghast, etc.) are rares that cost $10 per card. $10 for a single card is not what I think of as budget. Perhaps they weren't so expensive when first posted. Still good for learning deck construction, though.

@deworde rather than add to my answer I'll leave yours as a separate answer. Note: We did get a Deck Builders Toolkit for 2015 - it was one of our few sealed purchases and probably the best as beginners. It was good for lands and for exposing us to game mechanics and a variety of cards that worked reasonably together but I found it frustrating for building decks as none of the cards had 4 copies. Getting good focus in a deck typically requires 4 copies of some cards, especially if you're building a combo deck. Some cards seem nearly worthless unless you have 4 copies and build around it.
