comment What are the most popular formats for Magic The Gathering?
Legacy has a minor card-availability problem, but Vintage has an enormous card-availability problem. Black Lotus is in nearly every decklist (only exception is heavy anti-artifact decks) and costs $1,000 for a heavily played copy.

comment What are some alternatives to using dice in Settlers of Catan?
@AlexB: The official version calls for putting the reshuffle card 5th from the bottom to avoid too much gaming by knowing what is left.

comment Can someone Bioshift counters off a creature after combat damage has been assigned?
To reiterate, this worked when combat damage used the stack, it no longer does.

comment What happens if Ravager of the Fells can't target an opponent?
The way the rules fix this dilemma is that the dependency is verified afterwards. Once you have made all selections they are simultaneously verified. Additionally no targets at all are chosen from the games perspective unless they are all selected.

comment How do Isochron Sceptre and the Fuse mechanic interact?
@Rawrgramming: By the way, one of the reasons for a hold on official rules at most sites is to ease quoting the relevant rule, in this case the exact mechanism through which the reminder text is enforced.

Hmm, I think you could probably trim that down to the pertinent sub-rules without losing the value. 608.2c is really the only interesting one in this case.

comment When someone dies who controls a permanent but does not own it, what happens?
@SamIam: The wording of 800.4a explains this: Then, if there are any objects still controlled by that player, those objects are exiled. Basically you undo any existing control changing functions that give that player control, if they still control something then that object gets exiled.

revised How does priority work in these cases?
Rehash of sentence structures to match Magic terms and hopefully make it more understandable. Usage of technical terms may be high, I am not sure.

comment How does priority work in these cases?
I would recommend expanding to mention that APNAP order of stacking results in NAP having their effects resolve first. Also note that the NAP may play multiple spells/abilities without yielding priority. Otherwise good explanation.

comment Can I give a creature First Strike in order to prevent it dealing any damage that combat?
@StrixVaria: I don't remember pre-double strike, but double strike originally codified the damage step as "All creatures with double strike or creatures that did not deal damage during the first strike combat step deal damage now". Give or take some paraphrasing.

comment Can ciphers be countered?
@ikegami: Of course, forgot that the ceases to exist acts exactly like a replacement effect, but isn't a replacement effect to avoid interactions with other replacement effects. 110.5g and 706.10a are the fixers in that regard. In either case the overall effect is the same, the copy is exiled and eventually ceases to exist.
