Which resources are better at the start of a Catan game? @AlexC: I generally like to have good brick at the beginning too. But what I was trying to indicate is that there will be situations where brick is very weak on the board, and in these situations, I don't believe that having a brick/wood-heavy strategy makes sense. Where I feel your answer is lacking is that it doesn't take into account these situations. |

Which resources are better at the start of a Catan game? But what happens when the board is very weak on Brick or Wood? I agree with @Joe Golton, you've got to plan your strategy based on what's available and what order you get to place in. Would it really be the best use of one of your initial settlements just to get at a 3 Brick? |
