What is the most balanced/competitive character set in Citadels? The warlord can destroy 1-cost districts for free, which isn't worthless at all! (If you pick on the leader, removing a colour grouping +1 cost is 4 points. And if you delay them getting 8, that's another 4 points.) |

Is Saboteur better in a 4-player game than a 2-player game? Saboteur is absolutely brutal if combined with 1-3 highways. If you are the saboteur/highway player the other players don't stand a chance as you strip them of their gold/province/5-cost costs extremely efficiently! |

Is Duplicate Bridge (standard Matchpoints) a game of pure skill? There is still luck in guessing where cards are, just because they are "fixed" in duplicate bridge doesn't mean they aren't random. You could have the dice rolls for a game of settlers chosen in advance and kept secret, then played duplicate style. I'm not convinced it would reduce the luck factor though. |

Can Dismember kill my Gloryscale Viashino after I cast Armadillo Cloak? Does this mean that if the Armadilo Cloak was countered, the +3/+3 would still take effect? I suppose if the trigger was "successfully cast" or "resolves" then a counter would prevent the effect? |

Is there a simple strategy for re-learning Magic the Gathering? Main differences: No mana burn, tapped defenders still deal damage, no interrupts but mana-abilities bypass the stack. The stack is very similar to the old LIFO rule, but you can start adding more things on top half-way through resolution. |

Which tournament format best emphasizes winning (as opposed to avoiding last place)? I'd say the starting position depends on the board, if there are 2 very good settlement positions, then going 2nd is better than 1st. If there are 5 reasonable places, then going last is definitely the best option. Sometimes you end up with only 1 good space on the board for Ore, and in that case going first is a huge advantage! Detailed stats would be good to see. Maybe some simulations? |

Survive Escape from Atlantis: whales and sharks setup I've played a very similar game where dolphins/sharks/octopus/sea monsters all start off the map, and appear as you destroy tiles around Atlantis. I think that one was called Escape From Atlantis though. I guess many people had the same idea for a game! |

Dominion: When to use Platinum and Colony @Andrew-Vandever Note: Taking the first card out of the randomiser deck is equivalent to shuffling them and taking one of your ten. If you think about shuffling the randomiser deck and drawing the top 10 cards, the top card has a n/10 chance of being from prosperity where n is the number of cards from prosperity in the top 10. The difference is only in when you decide which one of the 10 is the "top" card. |
