In Smallworld, do Fortresses pay the +1 VC only on the turn they are placed, or do they each pay for every turn that the race is active? Or, arguably, quadratically, if you count the total effect while having been in play. |

Infinite loop where where both players choose to continue the loop Since the game has only finitely many cards, eventually the exact same configuration of cards (in hand, order in graveyard, and order in library) must return. However, if Emrakul's owner can net gain a life during each cycle, then it might be possible to have a truly infinite sequence of moves that never returns in the exact same game state. |

Is Fluxx a game of skill or luck? As to your first question, a result as extreme as 71%-29% over a range of 200 games will occur on average exactly 259038549769305536821652665944548563501370191596359 out of every 200867255532373784442745261542645325315275374222849104412672 experiments, or roughly 0.000000129% of the time, if the process were a coin toss. So we can reject that hypothesis out of hand for any reasonable level of significance. (Source: "Statistics:-CDF(Binomial(200, 1/2), 2*29);" in Maple.) |

Can I place a bridge that has no hope of completion? +1. This is the main offensive tactic of the whole game, I would say: prevent opponents from finishing their scoring opportunities. |

House rules to make the cloister less of a game winning tile in Carcassonne? Reflecting on this question two years after the fact, I think the difference in my and other people's views may partially be caused by using different official versions of the rules. I am (and was) used to the first edition rules; later editions make farms and cities stronger, which alleviates the issue already. |

Taking back turns, and forgotten privileges @Matt: Agreed. And it depends on the game and on the setting whether a hesitation is relevant information. |
