I am a software engineer at Google. I like machine learning, python, and algorithms.
I am a sucker for analyzing game log data for games that I love. I run RFTGStats.com and CouncilRoom.com: Dominion Statistics.

What Dominion kingdom-card setups tend to lead to the shortest games? Pat does a good job continuing to make sure there is nothing interesting to read (or write) bcg.se. FWIW, forum.dominionstrategy.com will give you good, high quality discussion of this if you want it. |

Citadels: Does the crown switch hands if the king is killed? I am not sure it would be so bad >2p. Be King, take Assassin, kill King will get dominated by someone with free reign over Merchant. |

Does mixing Dominion expansions lessen the power of card combinations in random kingdom setups? @TheChaz: There are two things to consider. 1. The raw number of combos across all kingdom sets. Of course this goes up as you add more cards and cards from different sets. 2. The probability that a given card will be in a viable. This tends to go down as you add cards from different sets, or equivalently, up as you add more cards from its own set. |

Can you buy with a copper after buying Grand Market? Another sort of exception is with Mint. If you get $11 with two buys, you can buy a Mint, trash the coppers in play, and then buy a Grand Market. |

Should I trash Copper or Silver with Mine? With thief in play, if you upgrade copper -> silver, you throw away a rare opportunity for your opponent to help your deck (by trashing your coppper). |

Should I trash Copper or Silver with Mine? In Dominion, you almost always want a more varied money distribution. The desire for a 5-2 split, a before second shuffle gold, and the steep utility increase from 4 to 5, and from 5 to 6 are more evidence. Further, the Tactician card even gains from this idea. |

Is Saboteur better in a 4-player game than a 2-player game? If anyone wants, I can give you shell access to the councilroom machine to do analysis. I am personally convinced based on the player scale invariance argument (and subsequent lack of refutation of that point) on BGG. |

Dominion - Saboteur use I am very skeptical that the effectiveness of saboteur increases with the number of players. I've gotten into the argument before on BGG here, boardgamegeek.com/article/6879886#6879886 |

Using Saboteur after Bridge in Dominion Note that Bridge changes costs for both 'on destroy' and 'on gain', so the effect is neutral with respect to Saboteur, there is no real combo. Players can still turn their Provinces instead Golds. But they do skip the $3s. |
