I am a software engineer at Google. I like machine learning, python, and algorithms.

I am a sucker for analyzing game log data for games that I love. I run RFTGStats.com and CouncilRoom.com: Dominion Statistics.

comment Is Saboteur better in a 4-player game than a 2-player game?
If anyone wants, I can give you shell access to the councilroom machine to do analysis. I am personally convinced based on the player scale invariance argument (and subsequent lack of refutation of that point) on BGG.

comment Dominion - Saboteur use
I am very skeptical that the effectiveness of saboteur increases with the number of players. I've gotten into the argument before on BGG here, boardgamegeek.com/article/6879886#6879886

comment Using Saboteur after Bridge in Dominion
Note that Bridge changes costs for both 'on destroy' and 'on gain', so the effect is neutral with respect to Saboteur, there is no real combo. Players can still turn their Provinces instead Golds. But they do skip the $3s.

comment 2 draw piles for convenience?
Also, when we did this with a mixed older base set and newer expansion set in Race for the Galaxy, some players would opt to take the fresh card from either deck, which is obviously cheating.

comment Strategy for succeeding at Crisis skill checks
Everyone in the brig -> no crisis checks. All but one in the brig means you'll have Investigate Committee and Declare Emergencies flowing, and everyone in the brig able to make an average contribution of say, 3 or 4 per crisis. As long as the solo free player is a not a Cylon, and you can convince people to stay in the brig, Crises will be a breeze.
