comment Coloretto vs. Aquaretto and Zooloretoo, what are the differences and how can I tell which to buy?
@Pat I know it was a while ago, but here's a great site that you can play Coloretto (free), no Zoo or Aqua yet... en.boardgamearena.com?s=575740

comment Why would you want to play with a deck bigger than 60 cards in MTG?
@Andy - yes, I agree, with the caveat that you should be aware of the probability changes and make (darned) sure that the 61st card is just as important as the 60th card.

comment Can you select role which gives you money but you can't use it in Puerto Rico?
as an addendum: This is also a good way to screw with your opponents.

Not sure if you're looking for the answers or just comments.

comment Proper use of Dominion card Upgrade
I also use upgrade to clean out curses... Probably never would use it to destroy an action card (well, maybe coppersmith...)

comment How can I get my heavy card stock game board to lie flat?
+1 Plexiglas is a fine idea for weighing down (and flattening) a warped board. The one problem with it is when you are playing a tile (or modular) based game, like Road Kill Rally (boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/65225/road-kill-rally). Having to lift the Plexiglas each turn sucks. How do we straighten warped cardboard?

comment What's a good table-topping material for tile-based games?
Does a tablecloth help? Sometimes this works for me, sometimes it doesn't. What about a large bread/cutting board? not beautiful to look at, but might work also.

comment What cooperative board games are there that I could safely play with my wife?
Unfortunately, my wife doesn't drink, but I will add this to the guys game night rules. As an odd aside, I just two minutes ago set the game up to teach my wife to play. I'll let you know how it goes...

Great question, I have no answer... in fact, my brain hurts... But good question.

comment Board games for two players
@gomad - Ascension is not a CCG. It's more on par with Thunderstone, in that it's a deck building game. Pretty good game at that, although I've only played the 2 player version, it's marked as 2-4 players. Still I would play this with 2 players, and Thunderstone with 3+.

comment How to eliminate advantages gained from the seating position of inferior players?
@Sparr - Again, it depends on the game. For example, When playing Puerto Rico, the 3 & 4th place players have a distinct starting advantage over the first (and second). I can see where having the least experienced on your right would be helpful also. My suggestion would be to roll dice for seating position, or have opposite players move 1 space right, just mix it up.

comment Interaction in Race For The Galaxy
I'm definitely in the "Card Denial" camp. One of the best parts of this game is holding/discarding the cards that my opponents need.

comment What is the best tournament format for Cripple Mr Onion?
please put add a tag for the game name. I haven't heard of this game before, so I'm unsure of the full correct name. If it is as listed above, please add a tag called 'cripple-mr-onion'. Thanks

comment Descent Campaign Shortening
I've only played Descent a couple time, but it does seem like the games have lasted weeks... While I'm not sure that there is a good way to shorten the campaign, there are a few websites that will save your data (characters, location, etc) so that you can put the game away and then come back to it later...

I think the initial idea was what games could be played solo without a computer.

okay, I agree with the 'diversity' part also. Still, I tend to want to cut to 60...

comment How do I become a professional game designer?
Not sure why this wouldn't belong here. Has to do with board & card games... Can we only ask about already published games? Can we only ask rules questions? I like it and think it is very much on-topic.
