comment Creative Rut - Could use some fresh ideas
You could use the Risk system, in which the attacking forces take their top two dice rolls and compare them against the defenders' rolls.

comment What classic playing card game has the most complicated (standard) rules dictating the replacement of cards on the table?
Oh, there's a shortlist? I had no idea. I'll flag it.

comment In Catan, how to ensure nobody lies when monopoly card is played?
As soon as people start cheating, you know they're playing to win and nothing else. Such environments can get pretty unfriendly.

comment Unique and fun rules for UNO
For the 3rd rule, people I've played with always did 4 cards instead of 7, and it's only if somebody else says "uno" before you do.

comment Why is card counting considered illegal in Blackjack?
@EpsilonVector: Basically, it's not illegal, but they can still kick you out for it.

comment Are there any card games that enforce “Dealer's Respect”?
It's also the reason I stopped playing it after one round. The rules of the game are too dependent on the group of people playing them, and it's impossible to even play the game properly until you're an "insider" of the group you're playing with, which requires stumbling around getting penalty cards left and right until you've learned all the rules that everybody else already knows. It's a hazing ritual in the form of a card game, and I find it intolerably stupid.

comment Which country's playing cards have CBR as the JQK?
The problem with this is that the face cards in other languages might not be called Jack, Queen, and King - for example, in French, the word for Queen is "Dame", which means "lady".

revised Are there any card games that enforce “Dealer's Respect”?
The bold feels unnecessarily forceful.
