By day (and night, far too often) I'm the Operations Manager at Digital Motorworks.

Most of the rest of the time I'm with my family or gaming, or thinking about gaming.

Currently playing a 14th level Shifter Paladin in a 4th edition DnD campaign. I'm also just starting to run a campaign of my own.

Willing to play boardgames whenever I can find people willing to lose to me :)

flickr.com/photos/perry_g/2064013288 Looks like a stalemate to me. There are several other stalemated checkers images on google as well.

From Wikipedia -"A player wins by capturing all of the opposing player's pieces or by leaving the opposing player with no legal moves. The game ends in a draw, if neither side can force a win."

Yes, it isn't like you're going to have a better shot at him/her/it :)

I looked on the official boards and was unable to find anything on this. My inclination would be to awaken the GOO if you run out of clues. The rest can be faked. I've never come close to running out of money. Go shopping!

well, I suspect you are playing a different game than I am. I've played a fair amount of AH (~50 games) and not run into this problem. Therefore my suspicion is that either you are using house rules that lengthen the game, or perhaps you are misunderstanding a rule or two. If you don't have a full component set, then you should address that as well. (FYI, if you include a @pat, I'll get notified of any response)

I'm having trouble understanding how you are running out of those things. How many people are you playing with? Any house rules? Are you sure you have a full component set? (There is a list on page 2 of the rulebook). For starters, you should have 54 points worth of stamina/sanity markers. That's almost 7 per character in an 8 player game.

comment Board games for two players
I've upvoted, but this may not be the best game to play with your wife. A two player game of Agricola involves a lot of action/resource denial which may end up being too aggressive for some folks.
