By day (and night, far too often) I'm the Operations Manager at Digital Motorworks.
Most of the rest of the time I'm with my family or gaming, or thinking about gaming.
Currently playing a 14th level Shifter Paladin in a 4th edition DnD campaign. I'm also just starting to run a campaign of my own.
Willing to play boardgames whenever I can find people willing to lose to me :)

Looking for games with drop-in drop-out mechanic Hey tugs, sorry I closed your question. Per our faq recommendation questions are not on topic here. They aren't a good fit for a Q&A site. |

Creating easy to learn but difficult to master games Hey Rick, welcome to B&CG. As others have noted your question is way too broad to be feasibly answered here. Our faq states, "If you can imagine an entire book that answers your question, you’re asking too much." |

Highest difficulty and creativity Sokoban map families Closed - As noted by others Sokoban is a puzzle, not a boardgame. I'm aware of no puzzle site in the StackExchange network to migrate this too, sorry. |

What is the purpose of having randomizer cards for the non-kingdom cards? @thesunneversets - hmm, late last night it seemed there was a difference. Rereading them, I'm less sure of that! |

Puerto Rico - Custom gameplay tweaks to introduce player interactions Have you tried these proposed rules? Rather than discussing them when nobody has any practical experience, it is often better to try them out, see how they work and then come here to ask specific questions about problems encountered. See this meta question for a more in depth discussion. |

How to Measure Luck vs Skill in Games? I think you're onto something here. Would it be possible to get some images that are examples of sample distributions outlining how different games might appear? I think it would help to visualize things. |

How to Measure Luck vs Skill in Games? @SevenSidedDie I disagree, to me, the root of this is a fundamental problem that boardgamers face. IE, did I win because I was lucky or was it my mad skills? |

Why do cards have different rarity levels in Magic: The Gathering? Hey Max, welcome to B&CG. I've trimmed your answer as it kinda transitioned from being an answer to the question posed to more of a rant. There was also a fair amount of profanity there, which is not allowed on this site. Please take a moment and peruse our faq when you get a chance. Thanks! |

Can the pirate be placed on the edge of the board? @user1873 - "When a terrain hex borders on the sea (i.e., a frame piece), it is called a “coast.” You can build a road along a coast. " This counters your strict interpretation that roads cannot be placed on the edge border. |

Can the pirate be placed on the edge of the board? @user1873 - note that the Almanac defines Coast so that roads/ships/cities can be built between land hexes and the frame by the rules as written. |
