comment Can a Space Marine army consist of units from different chapters?
It's usually frowned upon to even have differently painted units in the army, since each main chapter has their own codex, and with it their own set of rules. If I see red marines with a teardrop, I'll think, "He's playing Blood Angels". If I see green marines with white wings, "There's Dark Angels". If I see both of those, plus blue and yellow marines, my firs thought would be "Which army book exactly are you using?"
