comment How can I beat “Big Money” in Dominion?
Re: Chapel "Trash copper in mid to late game to thin your deck" -- Trash copper as early and as aggressively as you can. By the time a Chapel has come up in your hand with all of your Coppers, you should have a couple Silvers and hopefully a Gold or two.

comment Correct/Recommended use of Masquerade in Dominion: Intrigue
Androminion is pretty new, and thus probably has bugs/errors. Isotropic is really good about adhering to the rules, and they do not reveal the cards.

comment Are the Goons un-fun?
Agreed. Any time any attack card comes up during setup, I evaluate it with the group I'm playing with (both whether they would enjoy it, and whether our group size would make the game too slow), and then replace it when necessary.

comment Dominion randomizer deck confusion
+1 for the "correct" answer (i.e. The answer given in the rules book), even if it makes no sense in practice. An empty pile leaves an empty space on the table... why fiddle with cards to "mark" them?

Those are Magic cards? Wow, those have changed since I used to play back in the days of the Revised Edition.

Very useful breakdown. I've never thought about how many resources each VP takes, but it's very helpful.

comment Any good way to add a handicap in Dominion?
Giving other players a more powerful starting deck would hurt their ability to learn the general strategies of the game.

comment Any good way to add a handicap in Dominion?
For all the great ideas here, I think the simplest approach may be best. I can quietly remove a Province from my score pile at the end of the game (or more/less if its a high/low scoring game).

comment What are good games to play during a one-hour lunch break?
I should note you are limited to four players without the Intrigue expansion, and six with it. Also note that playing with four or more players, the game may take a little longer, usually around 45 minutes. But with the expansion or a couple copies of the game, it's easy to play multiple side-by-side games.

comment Do you know any rules that make Pandemic's difficulty more even?
In my experience, it's the timing of the first epidemic that has the most significant impact on difficulty. The others don't matter as much as long as you have a chance to get on top of the outbreaks early on.

Most times I've played, it been with 4 or 5 players. Is this why we get our a**es handed to us all the time?

comment Getting started with trick-taking games (whist, euchre, bridge, pinochle, etc.)
+1 Hearts is where to start. All the others are much easier to pick up once you've played Hearts.

comment How does Intrigue change your general Dominion strategy?
I think Minion deserves more than the footnote you gave it, but I think you are right: it's the attack cards that kind of turn the game upside down in Intrigue.

comment Proper use of Dominion card Upgrade
+1 The +Card and +Action are really what make this card worth it. It can slowly improve a deck without slowing down your main game strategy.

comment Condensing Carcassonne & expansions into a single box
Yeah, I really should have taken some photos while I was constructing them... I'll have to see if I can draw up a diagram or something.

comment How can I effectively use the Coppersmith?
The trick here is realizing that 3 Coppers in hand is going to be very common for your second time through the deck (turns 3 & 4), and maybe even once after that. This provides a big boost in spending power in those early crucial turns so you can start affording Golds by turn three. Only then does this become worse than a Silver, and should be trashed once it has served that purpose.

comment What are the most effective action combinations in Dominion?
The beautiful thing about Dominion is no matter how "broken" a card is, everyone has an equal opportunity of buying it. That said, there are a dozen other cards I would call "broken" before Treasure Map; it takes enough work to pull it off that by the time you cash it in, you've earned the four Gold.
