comment Does Avis or Iago have a better chance of winning a match?
@user1873 The d20s could be considered indistinguishable, but the d4 isn't - it's worth different points and will affect the later possibilities. But it sounds like you've got a good start on how to approach it.

@user1873 The problem is that you rapidly fall down the rabbit-hole of probability - Iago(4) has 32000 different possible rolls, which combined with Avis(4)'s 7680 different openings means that there are 245,760,000 different ways the opening roll could play out. And then you start tacking on the branches as you re-roll dice. And that's for just one of the 289 combinations of each player's X die...

Added the link, but the spreadsheet was very quick-and-dirty (basically iterated through the various formulas). If I get a moment I'll do up a Pretty GDocs version and link.

comment When should I add life gain cards to my deck in MTG?
I'd argue that if a card gains you life and has a decent side effect that ain't bad either.

comment On-Going / Long Running Game
Is the intention that it's a long-form game, rather than something short like President or Uno where you can add or remove players between hands?

comment Comparisons Betwen Deck-Building Games
Might be worth distinguishing between the "living card games" and the "deck building games" - LCGs are much closer cousins to Magic and other CCGs than Dominion.

comment How can I set up a game of the Resistance without anyone needing to close their eyes?
@ire_and_curses But how do you mark the set without giving away information? Either the marks are on the card back (which means people can learn that the A set has blue and red spies), or they're on the card front (which means someone is looking at the details. It's not impossible, but it'd be pretty easy to mess up (and difficult to detect when you've been compromised as well)

The other concern I can see with having a set of "evil colors" is that someone has to hand out that list (or write it on the card), so unless you're building a set and not handing it out, someone by definition is in the know.

comment Which boardgames need expansion sets before they work properly?
+1 for pointing out a few games that feel like demos until you buy an expansion (Pandemic really comes into it's own once you have more jobs; I still haven't forgiven Settlers for insisting on selling me 5-6 player expansions for their expansions)

comment Implementing a map exploration mechanic cheaply
Non-square cards aren't really a drawback - they'll still fit into a grid fine (albeit a rectangular rather than square grid).

comment Can I sacrifice a permanent to pay an ability cost while the permanent's spell is still on the stack?
Worth noting that your opponent can't Bolt a creature that hasn't resolved yet for the same reason you can't sacrifice it - it's a spell while it's on the stack, not a creature.

@JoeZeng Another term for "unwilling participant" (or "sucker", depending on the playgroup)

comment Is there a best character in Button Men? Is there a worst character?
And on the "worst" side, even Dead Guy (0,0,0,0,0) wins against poison-heavy buttons. So, pretty sure there's no definitive worst Button Man.
