I recommend you check out the Modelling Section of the Advanced Tau Tactica forums. This will probably be more helpful for their great magnetization guides, but there are a TON of other guides linked there... if you stick with Tau it will be an invaluable resource. If you can find a copy of some of the older codexs they often have better pictures of what ...

The Army List entry would be referring to the "Tau Empire Wargear List" on pg 95. This lists 5 sections: Ranged Weapons, Signature Systems, Drones, Support Systems and Vehicle battle Systems. So they could take up to 3 items from the Ranged Weapons and/or Support Systems lists on this page.

With the errata* released in July of 2016, this is now a much clearer rule. The rule now reads that the shots are resolved at the same time, but does not indicate that the shooters are all counted as the same unit. Just like the rule read before, the benefit of the improved BS and shared markerlights still applies, but you no longer get to share unit-wide ...

In a recent article on the Warhammer Community page author Phil Kelly puts a footnote to the effect that T'au blood has always been red. It’s been red from the first ever account of the sacred ta’lissera blood bond. We tried different coloured blood for our alien races – Orks had green blood at one point – but it just didn’t look right on the miniatures, ...

No. The markerlights are on the transport, not the unit inside. Remember they are separate units, and generally you can not target units inside a transport (template vs. open topped being the exception). Any markerlights on a destroyed unit are removed with the unit. The only way that would be possible, is if the targeted unit had a way to embark during ...

It does, and you can. You don't even have to start the Strike team in the devilfish, so you could begin the game holding two objectives. A transport bought separately (generally most other transports are Fast Attack) will not have Objective Secured unless it is "Troops" or the mission says it's type has ObSec. It's worth noting that if you have Pathfinders ...

There still is a table for the Ranged Weapons and Support Systems on Page 74 of the 2015 edition of the book. The did clean up the locations of special rules/equipment in newer editions, but if you're used to the older editions this can be hard to find. Generally Ranged weapons are 14 points and other support systems range from 5-25 points each. One nice ...

With the most recent box sets and codexes, there are images for most weapons. Within the weaponry sections and in the second half of the book, there are images that show what each weapon or piece of equipment looks like. Likewise, the back of the box that the models come in will often tell you what the weapons are that come in the box with an example of the ...

Check the last GW Tau FAQ on their facebook page. They have errated this rule to read "They shoot at the same target one after another" rather than "as one unit". That ends the discussion.
