Sep 18, 2017 at 20:37 | comment | added | Malco | Another thing to keep an eye on is the recent changes to planeswalkers uniqueness rule, has sparked some discussion on possibly changing the rules to allow any planeswalker to be a commander.
Sep 18, 2017 at 20:29 | comment | added | Cascabel | Want to add a note about the transform planeswalkers from Magic Origins? We got a question-as-answer asking about that.

Dec 26, 2014 at 3:00 | comment | added | doppelgreener | @jwodder Good point! I was thinking of pointing something like this out, and I guess I should! I'll edit some of those details in too.
Dec 26, 2014 at 2:49 | comment | added | jwodder | @MPW: Keep in mind that the Commander format isn't used in any official tournaments (or, at least, the vast majority of Commander play is outside of tournaments), and so you'll always be playing it in a casual context with a group of (hopefully) friends. These friends may choose to allow you to use any planeswalker as your Commander; house rules like this are even explicitly encouraged in the official Commander rules, under "Philosophy": "House rules or 'fair play' exceptions are always encouraged if they result in more fun for the local community."
Dec 26, 2014 at 1:54 | comment | added | MPW | Thanks. I'm sorry to hear that, but at least I haven't already invested in a card I can't use.
